Lata’s ‘Jail’ track becomes prayer song in Tihar

A devotional track ‘Daata Sun Le’ sung by legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar for Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film ‘Jail’ has been included as a prayer song for the inmates in Tihar jail here.
The national-award-winning director, who visited Tihar with actors Neil Nitin Mukesh and Manoj Bajpai to celebrate Diwali with the prisoners, said, “We have talked to the authorities and they have decided to include the song as part of the prayers in Tihar.”
The soft track by the veteran singer was played for the inmates by film’s music director, Shamir Tandon.
“We will be using the song in our morning and evening prayers. However it will not replace the existing prayer ‘Ae Maalik Tere Bande Hum’,” Sunil Gupta, Public Relations officer, Tihar Jail told PTI. Read more….
